Barrs, Inc. Expands Capabilities with the Addition of the Jekko SPX309 Mini Crane

Home | Blog | Published on March 24th, 2026

The well-drilling and pump-repair teams at Barrs, Inc. are excited to announce the addition of a cutting-edge, market-leading solution to our fleet: the Jekko SPX309 mini crane.

While traditional truck-mounted pulling rigs remain highly effective for fast transport and standard outdoor jobs, the Jekko SPX309 offers unique advantages that enable us to tackle complex job-site challenges that trucks cannot access.

Key Advantages of the Jekko SPX309

1. Confined Space Access

One of the most significant benefits of the SPX309 is its compact footprint.

Doorway Access: At just 30 inches wide, it can pass through standard single doorways and fit into service elevators—making upper floors, rooftops, and indoor environments accessible.
Obstacle Navigation: Its spider-style outriggers can be positioned at multiple angles, allowing setup over stairs, around columns, and within tight corridors where larger equipment cannot operate.

2. Lower Ground Pressure

Traditional truck rigs are heavy and can damage sensitive surfaces such as sidewalks, lawns, and flooring.

Surface Protection: The SPX309 uses rubber crawler tracks to distribute weight evenly, resulting in low ground pressure (approximately 6.25 PSI) and minimizing impact on delicate surfaces.

3. Precision and “Pick & Carry” Capability

The mini crane provides exceptional control for detailed and technical work.

Remote Operation: Operators use a radio remote control, allowing them to stand beside the load for precise, millimeter-level placement.
Mobility While Loaded: Unlike truck rigs that must remain stationary once deployed, the SPX309 can move short distances while carrying a load, improving efficiency in tight spaces.

4. Eco-Friendly Indoor Operation

Truck-mounted rigs rely on combustion engines, limiting their use indoors.

Zero Emissions Option: The SPX309 is available with battery power, delivering quiet, emission-free performance—ideal for indoor environments or areas with strict air quality and noise regulations.

Product Overview: Jekko SPX309

The Jekko SPX309 mini crawler crane is a compact, high-performance solution built for restricted workspaces. With a maximum lifting capacity of 1,950 lbs (1 ton) and a 31-foot boom, it is ideal for precisely placing well pumps and other heavy or delicate materials.

Its narrow 30-inch width, radio remote control, and four adjustable outriggers enable safe, efficient operation in residential settings and on construction sites. Optional electric power further enhances its versatility by providing quiet, environmentally friendly operation where emissions and noise are most important

Commitment to Better Service

The addition of the Jekko SPX309 reflects Barrs, Inc.’s ongoing commitment to investing in advanced equipment that improves safety, efficiency, and service capabilities for our customers. By expanding what’s possible in confined, sensitive, and hard-to-reach environments, we’re better equipped than ever to handle the most challenging well and pump projects.

Whether working in residential settings, commercial properties, or complex construction sites, Barrs, Inc. continues to deliver innovative solutions that get the job done right.
